Large Letters

Hi everyone,

This card was created for mum’s mother’s day.  She will turn 90 later in the year.  Mum also make cards and sells them to people in her retirement village.

Like a lot of my cards this was a process.  I enjoyed seeing many people using the Large Letter Dies on Pintrest for a number of months.  These were on my Wish List for some time, others were need first though.  Yes I bought them last month.  Well, I was very lucky because they are being retired as of 30th May.

I created this card using Berry Burst and Olive Green Cardstock and my favourite Designer Series Paper, Sweet Soriee.  This is also being retired at 30th May.

Baby Wipe method

Hi,

I have been watching several YouTube sites.  This card was made using the Baby Wipe Method. It is a play with colours.  Something different.

I choose a colour combination that i would not normally choose.  I actually love the card. I used Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Whisper White Cardstock with Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Smoky Grey stamp pads.  I created this card with Flower Shop Stamp Set and Pansy Punch.

There are many youtube sites for this method. Brenda Keenan from Keenam Kreations created this video.  I hope you enjoy it.

Hi

I created this card for a classy guy who turned 66.  The True Gentleman Designer Paper Series is fantastic.  I will miss being able to blog about this paper.  This paper is still available until 30th May.

I commenced this card using Smoky Slate and Whisper White and Night of Navy Carstock.  I used the Truly Tailored Stamp Set and Tailored Tag Punch.

65th birthday Celebrations

A close friend of ours turned 65 last week.  Have you guessed that he is also an Essendon Supporter.  Can’t help bad luck, can you.

I created this card using Basic Black, Real Red and Whisper White Cardstock.  I also used the Large Numbers  and Layering Circles Framelits and the Swirly Scribbles Thinltis.

The Large Number Framelits are being retired at the end of May. So be quick if you want them.  They are a very useful set to have in your range.

Mr 7

Master 7 asked to make a card yesterday afternoon whilst he was here.  He selected his colours which were rose red, garden green, turquoise blue, perfect plum and daffodil delight. He selected the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set and Amazing You Stamp Set.  His creation was stamped on Whisper White Cardstock and place on Fresh Fig Cardstock.  He was very adamant and decisive when making his selection.

Master 7 thoroughly enjoyed creating this card and successfully stalled the moment that he left at Nana and Pop’s.

Master 7 intended to give his card to his teacher, Miss T.

Ian and Leanne’s Quilt

Hi,

For those of you who read my blog regularly, do you remember me blogging about a quilt that was doing my head in.  Well it is finished and gifted.

I asked my brother several years ago, what colours did he and his wife like.  Ian stated neutrals.  So I started collecting neutrals which translated to me as being different versions of cream. Well, I have quite a selection now.  However when I put the fabrics together I couldn’t do anything with them.  There did not seem to be anything different. Whilst there were patterns within the fabric, there was no anything else.

So I started sourcing more fabric.  I went to a huge patchwork shop. I knew if I could not find anything in this shop, there was nothing to be found.  Well I came away with a story of fabrics.  Different shades of blues, greys, fawns with a cream as the sashing between each diamond.

I always wanted to create this quilt.  I have always called this The Jane Austin Quilt.  I'm not sure if that is the correct name though. So Ian and Leanne’s quilt was always going to be this one.

This first photo shows my incorrect placing of the diamonds.  As shown below the quilt is suppose to be a square.  The photo above shows a diamond.  Not Happy.  My mum used to say that you have not made a garment unless you have unpicked it.  Well there was a lot of unpicking on this quilt.

Well the quilt has been given to Ian and Leanne.  They like it, that is the main thing.  I can start another quilt now, with some colour in it.

Blessings
