I love this card.  It was created by using Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.  Swirls and Curls Textured Impressions Embossing folder going to be a fantastic addition to any card, I think.   It looks great with this one.   I used Beautiful Promenade Stamp Set and the sentiment came from Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set.  I also used Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz and Basic Black Stamp Pad.

Christmas Card

Hi everyone, 

Here are the last of christmas cards.  Most of these were made with Stampin Up Designer Series Paper.  Others were made using Dies that Mum had.  She regularly cuts cardstock out for me, and usually gives them to me when I visit her in Adelaide.  Sometime we do a swap, or Mum asks for particular stamps.  It works well for both of us.

Gingerbread House 2018

Hi everyone,

 

Another Christmas therefore another Gingerbread House.   This is one of our family traditions. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

33 years ago I attended a Christmas Class at the local Contact Centre.  With other class members I received a number of different recipes.  I have made some the recipes from that class for many years.  However, it is only the last couple of years that I have not made the biscuit recipe.  Our daughter usually makes that recipe now but having a 9 month old baby changed things this year.  The Gingerbread House decorating is still happening.  This year the older boys were more methodical than precious years. The two 9 month olds just looked on in preparation for next years work.

Do you know, I have had only one disaster in 33 years.  One year I tried a different recipe which was the disaster.  So now I used the same recipe and same pattern.  Over the years we have adopted some little kids as our kids have grown.  It has always been about the time spent together decorating the gingerbread house rather than what it looks like.  We have a 7, 5 year old and two 9 month old grandchildren.  Whilst our adult kids are a bit over it, it is lovely seeing the next generation enjoy this tradition.

Mini Milk Carton Gift

Hi everyone,

It is that time  of year  again where I seem to get stressed out by make little gifts for the Social Work Department at work.   I like giving at Christmas time ir anytime really but Christmas is a good excuse.

This year I made Mini Milk Cartons.   I found a YouTube tutorial -

I used a retired story of Designer Series Paper called Warmth and Cheer.  We are also fortunate enough to have a Lindt shop at our local factory outlets. 

 

This is a great way to use retired designer series paper. 3” x 6” scored several times. A very easy little gift to make.

Wise Men From Afar

Hi everyone

Embossing is so much easier these days with the Stampin Up Heat Tool.  Many years ago I can remember trying to emoboss cards using the heat from the toaster and placing the card under the griller.  None of them were successful and I eventually stopped trying.  Stampin Up Heat Tool is fantastic. Once the tool is heated, the Emobssing Powder just melts before your eyes. Fantastic.

I created this card using some old cardstock that has a texture.  I prefer Stampin Up Cardstock because it doesn’t have any texture and much easier  to stamp and emboss with. I am slowly using the old stock.

I created this using Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and Silver Foil Sheets, with Silver Embossing Powder. This card is so easy and has ‘Wow’ effect.

This card was created for a class.  I got the idea of Pintrest. 

I  created this card using Garden Green and Whisper White Cardstock.  I also used the Hometown Greeting Edgelits, Santa’s Signposr Framelits Dies. The Santa’s Workshop Designer Series Paper was also used.

Card in a box

Hi everyone,

Do you remember the card above.   I made this for my mum’s 90th. I loved the result and mum loved it when she recieved it.  Mum also makes cards so she is well aware of the time and effort that goes into them. 

Well around mum’s birthday, my dad died.  So I hopped on the plane to Adelaide and spent some time with mum.  There were lots of tasks to achieve but mum and I arrived at a spare afternoon, before I left.  Mum wanted me to show her how to make these cards. 

 

These two photos above are the results.  Initially mum wasn’t too impressed but I fiddled and included some green leaves and some glitz.  It is amazing how much a bit of glitz adds to the result. Before I left she was suggesting who she could give one the cards too. 

 

At this point I usually tell you what I used in the cards produced. However these cards were created with stock mum had in her craft supplies.  

 

I hope you like these cards.  Mum and I enjoyed an afternoon together sharing more stories and crafting together.   I think that is what craft is all about, sharing and creating together.

Here is this his beautiful girl holding the balloons again.  This is the Beautiful You Stamp Set.  This time I used Blueberry Bushel, Whisper White and Poppy Parade Cardstock.  I also used the Petal Pair Emobssing Folder. The Blenders did their magic again and the colouring in looks great.  Even if I say so myself. The sentiment came from Picture Perfect Brithday Stamp Set.

I made this several weeks ago whilst in Adelaide with my mum.  Mum has just turned 90.  She also loves making cards.  We usually spend some time together creating cards when I visit.

Beautiful You

Hi everyone, 

Beautiful You is a lovely stamp set.  I also used the Vertical Stamp Set for the greeting.  This card was created using Pineapple Punch, Whisper White Cardstock and Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper.  I also used Pineapple Punch and Basic Black ink pads. The Blenders are also becoming my favourite item.  I have little artisic ability when it comes to painting or colouring in. Stampin Up Blenders help me to create the look that I like.

Card in a Box

Hi everyone,

It has been bitter sweet in our family recently.  My dad, who was 90 passed away last week and we farewelled him yesterday.

Also on Friday my mum turned 90.

I have wanted to create a card similat to this for a long time.  However, the time spend making this, warranted a very special brithday and the recipient to value it.  My mum makes cards as well. So I thought this was just the special birthday that I could try something different. 

This is the  video that I watched, and followed whilst making mum’s card. 

I used Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper, Old Olive, and Whisper White Cardstock. I did not have Petal Pink Cardstock so used another pale pink.  I also used the retired Flower Shop stamp set and punch.  When learning something new I usually copy very close.  When I make another I play a lot more.   So I hope there will be many more of this cards placed on here.

Waterfront Stamp Set

 

Hi everyone.

This card was made over in Adelaide whilst staying with my mum.  Mum loves her cards also, and we tend to create a few cards whenever we are together.  Mum bought the Waterfront Stamp Set and was itching to be shown how to use it. So we set about having fun.

 

This card was created using the Stampin Up Ink Pads that Mum had.  We used Pacific Point, Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive and Soft Suede ink pads.  We also used Whisper White, Lemon Lime Twist and Soft Suede cardstock.  'Happy Birthday' came from You're Inspiring Stamp Set.

Lovely Floral

Hi everyone,

Today's card I made for our daughter-in-law, for her birthday.  S stamps with me regularly so I know what she likes and loves.  I wanted to use her favourite Designer Series Paper.

So this card was created with Share What You Love Speciality Designer Series Paper. However I commenced with Mint Macaroon, Night of Navy and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock.  It is quite fitting really.  S loves macaroons.  I also used the Lovely Floral Embossing Folder.  I tried to include a birthday message on the front but found it difficult to place.  So I left it off and coloured the petals of the embossing with the glitter pen.

Abstract Impressions

Today's card is a fairly easy one.  I love the shades of purple and yellow together.

I created this card using Abstract Impressions Stamp Set and 'Happy Birthday' from Perennial Birthday Stamp Set. I used Elegant Eggplant, Pineapple Punch and Whisper White cardstock.  The stamp ink is Elegant Eggplant and Highland Heather.  The ribbon is from this years colours, Pineapple Punch.

Magical and Myth with Rooted in Nature

 

 

Hi everyone,

 

Today's card is a mixture of old or retired and new stamps sets.  I make and send cards to everyone at church for their birthdays.  This one was sent to an 8/9 year old boy.

 

 

I used Cherry Cobbler and Whisper white cardstock. I also used the Magical and Myth Stamp Set with Rooted in Nature Stamp Set.  I used Mossy Green, Soft Suede and Basic Black stamp pads.  The Blenders came out to colour the knight and dragon.  I also used the glimmer pen to add a bit of sparkle.
